Mr. Manop Nagadatta

Mr. Nagadatta received his LL.B. (Honors) in 1973, ranking 1st in his graduating class at Thammasat University (Bangkok). He became a Barrister-at-Law in 1974 and received his LL.M. from Tulane University, New Orleans in 1975. Mr. Nagadatta's prestige in Bangkok's business and legal communities has been cultivated over the years through his professional work, his academic lectures and publications, and his active community involvement. Before establishing the firm in 1992, Mr. Nagadatta acted as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary to one of Thailand's largest consortiums, the Ocean Group, where he also held various positions within the Group including Director and President of Asoke International Trading Co., Ltd. (1980-1990), Managing Director of Ocean Finance and Securities Co., Ltd. (1983-1984), and Chairman and President of Siam Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (1988-1990).

Mr. Nagadatta’s reputable connections in Bangkok society range from the judicial and legislative branches of government (he has served on two National Juridical Council Committees for Legislative Revision) and to the private-sector bodies which oversee Thailand's professional standards (as Vice President of the Thai Life Insurance Association (1989-1990) and Executive Director of the Thai Insurance Institute (1989-1990)). Mr. Nagadatta's experience in Thailand's business, legal, and government circles provides the firm with access to the extensive interpersonal networks which are an indispensable resource in the Southeast Asian region.
