Mr. Timothy John Harney

Mr. Harney brings over 13 years’ of international law experience to Seri Manop & Doyle after working with long-term legal positions in Tokyo and Bangkok.

As a Foreign Law Advisor to Japan’s reputable Law Office of Matsuo & Kosugi and as Legal Counsel to Thailand's consulting firm of Globalmax Co., Ltd., Mr. Harney’s areas of specialized practice include: corporate law, trans-border commercial transactions, public agency/regulatory issues, immigration and entertainment law.

Mr. Harney received his B.A. in East Asian Studies (Honors) from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1985, where he was also a Varsity Member of the school’s high-ranked Men's Golf Team. Prior to receiving his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Harney obtained a Comparative Law Certificate at the University of Tokyo Law School in 1987 under the tutelage of Professor Teruo Doi and Professor Emeritus Yasuhei Taniguchi.

Mr. Harney was named to the Board of Directors of Kesinee International School in Bangkok (an affiliate of Washington International School) in 1999, a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and member of the Japan Society of Boston.
